We are pleased to announce that the 82nd Bristol (St. Bernadette) Scout Group has now been validated as a Leaning Destination, for those young people who have registered for the Children’s University “Passport to Learning” Scheme. Sponsored by the University of the West of England (UWE), the scheme is being promoted throughout many of the schools in Bristol & South Gloucestershire.

Described by the Sunday Times as 'The University of Fun', Children's University encourages 5-14 year olds to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills.

CU Learning Destinations are places and organisations which provide high quality learning opportunities and activities, which children can ‘travel’ with their Passport to Learning. They provide high quality learning activities and experiences and have passed the Children’s University’s quality assurance process.

As a validated restricted learning destination, it means all our scout sections can now validate students Passport to Learning and the time spent with their various scout sections can be endorsed by the section leaders.

Learning happens all the time in lots of different places, at different times and in different ways, so it is great to know that as a Scout Group we have been recognised as such a place where this can happen.
