Scouting Hike... Round One!

A fantastic day out along the mendips today with some of our enthusiastic scouts. Scouts learnt basic hill walking skills including bringing the right kit, setting a walking pass, key parts to the country code and team work. Scouts took part in learning and working out how to use bearings, basic map reading and micro navigation using pacing. An action packed, fun filled day with a lovely group of children who got stuck in and did not moan once! Very muddy, but very enjoyable and hopefully had left everyone looking forward to teh next one in may and especially our expedition is September!
